We are thrilled to share that UP Creative proudly participated in Tamworth’s very first Comic-Con, hosted by Ankerside Shopping Centre on 2nd May 2025! This exciting event brought together enthusiasts from across Staffordshire, and our community was at the heart of it all.

Over six weeks leading up to the big day, our talented participants and volunteers embarked on a creative journey to make costumes and displays that showcased their imagination and skills. We collaborated with local makers to craft unique costumes that our community members could wear and display proudly at the event.

One of the highlights was shop manager Dibby transforming into Princess Leia from Star Wars, bringing a touch of intergalactic magic to the occasion. Our new volunteer Red wowed the crowd with a stunning crochet masterpiece, demonstrating incredible craftsmanship and creativity.

Our CYP (Children and Young People) participants wore and proudly displayed their costumes throughout the day, sharing their enthusiasm and pride with visitors and fellow enthusiasts alike. It was inspiring to see their confidence grow as they showcased their hard work.

In addition to showcasing costumes, we offered a repair service for anyone who had come to the event in costume but encountered issues. Whether it was a torn seam or a missing accessory, our team was on hand to help ensure everyone could enjoy the day looking their best.

The event was a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, celebrate creativity, and have fun. We are so proud of our participants for their hard work and enthusiasm, and we look forward to more exciting adventures in creative expression.
